Dr. Neeta Kannan is originally from Pittsburgh, PA, where she graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Economics and  B.A. in Art History from the University of Pittsburgh. She subsequently earned her M.D. from the University of Pittsburgh Medical School. Dr. Kannan moved to San Francisco, where she completed her residency in Diagnostic Radiology (with a focus on ultrasound) and a fellowship in Breast Imaging at the University of California, San Francisco. 

Outside of clinical work, Dr. Kannan has performed research on socioeconomic barriers to breast imaging and has consulted private sector companies on new technologies related to cancer detection.

During her free time, Dr. Kannan enjoys spending time with her family and friends, hiking, reading, cooking, and all things pop culture.
